If you are a music aficionado, you must travel to the Blue City of Jodhpur between 22nd to 24th February to attend the World Sufi Spirit Festival (WSSF). Hosted by the Royals of Jodhpur, this festival will kickstart this Friday, 22nd February, at the iconic Mehrangarh Fort and would continue for a week.

With the serene Mehrangarh and Ahhichatragarh forts as the backdrop, the festival will witness performances by musicians from diverse musical backgrounds and influences. A colorful mix will inspire your ears ranging from Egypt, Turkey, France, Pakistan, Paris, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Cochin and Lucknow along with the traditional Rajasthani folk musicians.

Keep a day or two for yourself to go around this historic place and visit Jaswant Thada, Umaid BhawanPalace, Mandore gardens and Balsamanad Lake. Places which we personally recommend to see and experience. Jodhpur’s landmarks are some of Rajasthan’s most iconic, and make it a spectacular setting for a weekend away.

And don’t forget to try the local food — the hot & spicy Mirchi Bada, Pyaj Kachori and delicious Dal Bati Churma. Jodhpur is also known for its sweets ranging from traditional “Makhanbada”, “Mawa Kachori” to Bengali “Roshogollas”,”Ras madhuri”. A trip to Jodhpur wouldn’t be complete without tasting these delicacies.

The bus journey

Though more often visited as part of a wider tour of the region, Rajasthan’s second-largest city is short a bus journey from Delhi with 11 to 13 hours. Roads from Delhi to Jodhpur are really nice and you mostly travel on NH, except for a small rough patch between Deedwana and Nagaur. The pleasant weather in February makes it a good time for a road trip.
